Ingredients

  • 6 apples or fruit/vegetable of choice, peeled, cored, sliced or diced
  • Water

Preparation

1. Place cut fruit/vegetable in a medium sauce pot and cover 1⁄2 way with water. For firmer fruits and vegetables, cover food completely with water.

2. On medium-low heat, simmer fruit/vegetable until tender, approximately 20 minutes. The fruit/vegetable will continue to break down into an applesauce consistency, when cooked longer.

3. Cool mixture slightly. Place cooled fruit/vegetable into a blender or food processor. For pureed food, blend 1-2 minutes until smooth; add more water while blending to reach proper smooth consistency. For a chunkier consistency, blend 30 seconds or pulse in food processor 10-15 times, for desires consistency.

4. Cool baby food completely before serving or packaging. Refrigerate for up to 7 days or freeze up to 3 months.
